What time does it start?

Cocktail Reception starts at 6:30 p.m. and the Holiday Dinner starts at 7:30 p.m.

How long will the event last?

Approximately 4 hours (including the Cocktail Reception)

Where is the event taking place?

Winter Wonderful will be held at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, 255 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Miami, FL 33131.

How do I get there?

What if I arrive late?

If you are running late, please send an email notification to eventsmanagement@miami.edu with your name and guest names (if applicable), so that we are aware that you are still planning on attending.

Where do I go once I get to the hotel?

Enter through the main lobby and you will be greeted by one of our joyful carolers. They will guide you to the registration table.

What happens at Winter Wonderful?

After one of our carolers guides you to the registration table, you are invited to join other guests in our cocktail hour, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Once the cocktail hour is over, the ballroom doors will open at 7:30 p.m., so you may sit down to enjoy an evening of holiday carols and a candlelight dinner. To end the night, we invite you to join us for a dessert reception.

Is there an after party?

No, but we invite you to join us for a dessert reception at the end of the night.

I would like to stay here at the hotel overnight, are there discounts available for us?

Yes, the special rate is $249 a night. Please contact the Director of Social Event Sales, Jonathan Galindo, via email at jonathan.galindo@mdmusa.com to make your reservations.

What is the attire?

Semi-Formal Attire

Is the room cold?

We advise you to bring a light shawl or jacket in case you find the room cold.


Where do I park?

You may choose to valet park in front of the JW Marriott Marquis or self-park at the garage located near the Wholefoods at the MET3 Entrance located between SE 2nd Street and SE 3rd Street.

Is valet available? Until what time?

Yes, discounted valet is available for the night of Winter Wonderful. The valet parking is available 24 hours a day, every day of the week.


How much is it?

Prices range from $350 per ticket to $25,000 per table. For a list of seating options, please click here.

How can I purchase tickets to Winter Wonderful?

Can I purchase a single ticket and if so where will I be seated?

Yes! You may purchase individual tickets for Winter Wonderful! here. You will be grouped with other individual music lovers and patrons of the Frost School of Music during dinner.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Is there a deadline to reserve my seats?

May I purchase tickets on the night of the event?

We cannot guarantee that seats will be available on the night of the event. This only happens if there is a last minute cancellation.  You are welcome to walk-up and inquire at our registration desk, however we cannot guarantee that there will be any seats available.

Do tickets ever sell out?

Seating is limited. We encourage you to purchase your tickets early to ensure the best seating.

Are tickets issued at this event?

No, you will be assigned a table when you sign in at the event entrance.

I have more than 10 guests at my table, is there an additional cost?

Yes, the cost per additional seat is $350 per person. Please contact our Events Management Office so that they can make notes under your table reservation at 305.284.9766 or email eventsmanagement@miami.edu. Please note there is a max of 12 people per table.

What if I can no longer attend? What is your ticket refund policy?

All sales are final. If you are unable to attend, please consider donating your ticket(s) to sponsor a mentee at our MusicReach table. Please contact our Events Management Office at 305.284.9766 or email eventsmanagement@miami.edu

Are seats assigned?

Winter Wonderful guests are assigned to sit at their tables and are welcomed to select which seats to occupy within the tables they are assigned to.


I am disabled, how will I be accommodated?

When making your reservation, please mention you need special accommodations. We also recommend you contact our Events Management Office to notify them via email eventsmanagement@miami.edu or by calling 305.284.9766.

Yes, there is an open bar during the cocktail reception. Wine will be served during dinner.

I would like to purchase pictures from the photographer, how do I do this?

Photos from the photo booths are complimentary. Please contact Jenny Abreu Photography via email at abreuimages@comcast.net for further event photography.

My picture has been taken. What will you do with it?

Throughout our Winter Wonderful gala, you will notice professional photographers taking pictures and videotaping key moments of the event, including student performances as well as guests in attendance. The pictures and videos will be used by the University of Miami staff strictly for email communications, press releases, program books, and webpages for the purpose of recapping this past year’s events and encourage future attendance to the gala. By registering and attending Winter Wonderful, you automatically grant permission to use your image and likeness without any compensation.
